Koka Kola
So I just felt like wearing pastels/candy colours today :D.
Shirt: my grandfather’s attic
Dress: Givenchy for Legler
Shoes: Plasticland
Actually, I’m quite distracted because I’ve been looking at the pictures of my 2007 trip around Europe and I realize how much I want to take a longer journey again and discover lots of new places like I did then. University makes organization hard because there’s always the summer resits and some friends work and others (including me) need to study and blaaaargh. I’m hoping to organize a trip to Italy or Spain this summer but it’s hard when I don’t even know who’ll be able to tag along.
Sailorboy
As usual, the arrival of Spring brings out the sailor jacket! It remains one of my favourite jackets, even just in terms of sheer comfort (it’s a men’s jacket and slightly too big, which seems to help).
Jacket: used to be my father’s
Shirt: don’t remember?
Dress: shop in Camden Town
Boots: Sacha
We are the sleepyheads
Shirt: H&M
Dress: Topshop
Shoes: Replay
Here’s what I wore to see Alice in Wonderland yesterday (and visit my high school reunion). The movie was prettier than I expected. I liked some elements and disliked others. Overall I’m pretty happy though, and Stephen Fry was BRILLIANT as the Cheshire Cat :D.
I also wore my striped Kenzo jacket but forgot to take a picture of that, oh well! I should’ve worn my raincoat instead, we got pretty wet on the way home D:.
Since my swimming lessons have been working really well and I won’t need them again next year, I’m considering taking sewing classes instead. Even though I followed fashion in high school it was all very artsy and I didn’t really learn anything useful, so I think I could use some classes. If any of you ever followed them, tell me about it!
Kimono cats!
Tonight I’m going to see John Irving being interviewed and whatnot, and here’s what I’ll be wearing. Originally, I thought this would be a terrible idea but it kinda works for me. In a childlike way, which is possibly my favourite way :D.
Dress: H&M
Skirt: Topshop
Shoes: New Look
This skirt has been annoying me forever, because it has a BRILLIANT print but such a boring shape! It’s pretty long (for me) and not that wide which I never felt suited me. Until I had the idea to wear it higher, like it’s just part of a dress. And a couple of safety pins later, here we are!
I think a belt would’ve been nice but I couldn’t find any that suited well so… no belt. Is it odd, or cute, or both? What do you guys think? XD
No side to fall in
I never, ever in my life thought I would be wearing purple and green in outfit that isn’t Batman-related. But I think it kind of works here? I usually don’t like purple that much, I do however, like this particular shade. Occasionally XD.
Green cardigan: H&M
Flowery cardigan: from my grandfather’s attic
Dress: from my grandfather’s attic
Shoes: ? I forgot D:
Also, as much as I’ve grown to like my glasses (yay for getting over silly complexes!), I do miss my contacts. The whole thing is that my eyes can’t really stand them anymore and I need ones that let more oxygen through or something. I’m gonna check out how much extra those cost, but my eyes are still very sensitive right now so I need to wait a while. Sigh!
Sushi bar song
Today, I wore what is basically a casual version of my first post for this blog. I do love my ridiculously short mushroom dress. A few days ago I saw a girl with a similar dress, but with an owl print! So, so jealous.
Dress: Dari Meya
Skirt: from my aunt
Shoes: New Look
And I tried a new background! Generally, I like it, aside from how it renders my hair nearly invisible.
Also, I realized that I haven’t really gone shopping since… probably November. What happened? Damn you, winter. But I’m looking forward to going to the secondhand market again once it gets a little bit warmer. And we’re going to London during the Easter holidays (just 2 nights) so I’m sure I’ll spend a lot of money there. Maybe I should save up for that XD.
Sunshine!
Both Eline from A Fluffy Blog and Marlena from Self Constructed Freak gave me this lovely award:
Thank you so much :D! So I’m just gonna go ahead and give it back to these girls and to a few other blogs I either recently found or that I’ve been following for a long time!
You go girls! Have a cupcake:
Yes, this weekend I made marshmallow cupcakes with Daphné and though I was going to do an outfit post too that just seemed like too much work! :D So here’s a picture of the dress I was wearing + our cupcakes + my awesomely weird 80s curtains!
I’ll try to wear the dress again soon to give you girls a better look. It’s an old secondhand find and one of the first I was really, really happy with.
Whale brigade
Shirt: Zara
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Pomme d’Or
Today I decided to wear my beloved “I’m so unique!” shirt because a video I had to watch for class reminded me of it. I bought it in Milan a few years ago because it struck me as funny and appropriate. People occasionally refer to my style as ‘unique’ and that always seems a bit off to me. Like, how is my style more unique than anyone elses?
I think it’s just something that people use when they can’t think of a better word (which is when I use it, yes I have because I am a total hypocrite) and want to say something like ‘interesting’, ‘refreshing’, … Personally, I like to think of my own style as obnoxious but that’s because I just love that word :D.
Not that it’s something that particularly bothers me or anything… Just something I was thinking about.
Brooch: made by Daphné
This ‘Whale Brigade’ brooch was made by my best friend. I wanted to wear it on my skirt, but when I put it on that seemed off. However, on the ear of my (really weird) bunny is fine too, right? :D
