I really like this dress because of the cute green fabric, the lace and the wooden buttons. I don’t know if the fabric is supposed to actually be anything though XD.

Somehow religious imagery both creeps me out and fascinates me (I was raised in a 99% atheist family). My favourite of these necklaces is still the glass elephant though. My grandmother gave it to me in July. I guess it’s kind of hard to see in this picture. But it’s an elephant, and:

The (absolutely brilliant) owl bag was a handmade birthday present. I’ve been dragging it everywhere! I’ll take a better picture some other time.

In other birthday presents news (the type that I buy myself), my record player arrived! It’s bright yellow and gorgeous.

Most of my friends have been buying records again for a while now, and I was being obstinate and refusing to do so. But then when I was in London they had OOIOO’s Armonico Hewa in the Rough Trade store, but only on record. So I had to buy it! And that was the start of a new obsession.

I think I’d like to make another post here (sometime) with some pictures from France. I don’t have a lot myself (well, I do, but most feature my brother/aunt and I don’t want to share them online), but my brother forced me to be his model again, and there’s some really nice ones. So yeah, expect a post on that.

This dress is basically my favourite new thing :D. It reminds me a lot of the dresses Shonen Knife wear <3. I told my mom this when I was buying it and the guy from the shop was all ‘I saw them live when they played with Nirvana in the nineties’ and I died a little. But a friend gave me an awesome Shonen Knife record last night and everything is right again! Have a video:

This is what I wore when my friend and I went to the travel agency to book a trip to Barcelona. Yes, Barcelona. I’m really looking forward to it. Culture won’t be be a problem, and neither will nightlife, but I’d love some shopping tips! So anyone who’s been there, let me know which places you liked. Food tips are welcome too.

I hope everyone’s having a good summer! I sure am. Fun job, lots of videogames (though not enough time to play them AACK) and friends/family. I started studying today though. I hate resits, I wish I were a better student and only had exams twice a year :D.

This picture is two weeks old! I’m sorry guys. It’s just that I’m usually quite tired at the end of the day. Especially now, since the festival currently going on in my city (‘Gentse Feesten’), means that it’s the busiest time of year at the campsite.

I try not to overdress at work, and just put on a simple dress and shoes every day. But I still get questions like “Do you watch Sailor Moon?” & “Are you from art school?”. Is it that obvious? XD

Not that I watch Sailor Moon. But I was quite into manga back in high school, and Japanese street fashion was my biggest influence at the time. I guess it still shows :).

I hesitated to buy this dress because… it doesn’t have any colour. But I really love the collar and it’s so comfortable! I need to start taking detail shots again.

But anyway, here’s what I wore to a barbecue with some of my classmates! I finally got to wearing my suspenders, yay! Also, a new shirt from when my mom and I went “sales shopping”. Which I horribly fail at. I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything on sale that I was truly happy with XD. Usually I just end up buying stuff from the full-priced collection (like this!). Oh well, I’ll just stick to vintage for the really cheap things.

In other news, I have my grades, and I passed five out of the six exams that I actually took (I skipped two because I’m a horrible student). Have pretty good grades too, though mostly for my English literature classes. It’s pretty obvious what I should major in :D.

So what I’m doing right now is basically enjoying my short summer holiday. Hanging out with friends and playing videogames. My job starts in a few days already, yikes! I don’t mind though, I can swim every day there :D.

Anyway, I had a tricky exam today (Dutch grammar, why so complicated?), but I think I didn’t do too horribly :D.

You know, I sort of love Darimeya. I don’t know the brand too well, but I seem to have grown into the habit of buying a dress from them every time I’m in London. My favourite is by far the pencil dress, but this is cute too :D.

What I really love, however, is bees. Seriously, I spend far too much of my time obsessing about the little things. We’ve had a nest for a couple years now, which made me very happy (they are very important animals and they have all these weird diseases so we need to appreciate the healthy ones), except it seemed to have died last summer. Anyway, this summer, we’re having our balconies fixed, and apparently, workers don’t like bees around!

This wouldn’t be a problem, if a new nest hadn’t moved in yesterday (it was seriously crazy, they were EVERYWHERE). We called the beekeeper but she couldn’t get them out (the bees are too much inside our roof) and now she said we’ll probably have to kill them when the workers come.

I’m so upset! I’m a meat-eater and leather-wearer (also a WWF member), but I still think it’s sad when thousands of little creatures have to die for no good reason (tchk, shouldn’t workmen be, like, brave?), especially when their conservation in the wild is all weird with unidentified diseases and disappearances D:.

Anyway… I didn’t really mean to rant about this haha. Appreciate your bees! That is all XD.

My mom bought the shirt for me in London, while my brother and I were off to the Rough Trade record store. It’s very comfortable and it’s got a BOAT on it so it’s awesome :D. (not to mention that the boat is pink and blue, which means that the shirt should be this blog’s mascot or something XD)

Today, I had an oral exam and while I did wear a pretty cute outfit with a bowtie and everything, I was so tired/hungry/warm by the time I got home that I reaaaally couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of it. (The exam went… okay, I think, though oral assignments will always be difficult for me, especially when it’s a subject you can’t study for aack).
